Admittedly, we’re not the best fisherman. But, you don’t have to be when you use a local fishing charter guide! Our family had such a blast that we decided to do a video about our local Sanibel and Captiva Fishing Charters.
Fishing Charters on Sanibel Island
Today we’re going to switch it up and talk to you about something fun that we recently did, which was to go on a fishing charter! You could always save some money and take yourself out on a boat, but it really is nice to have someone who knows what they’re doing take you out and show you around. We hired a charter and had a fantastic time. It may seem a little expensive, but I think having a tour guide and a fishing guide is well worth the extra price.
When we arrived at Jensen’s Marina we saw manatee floating around the boats, as well as some jellyfish. Our fishing captain was extremely knowledgeable, and he helped us catch enough trout to feed our family. The best part of our trip may have been our encounter with a pod of dolphins that were jumping over the wake near our boat. That was really incredible to see them up close, and our children loved it.
When we were on our way home from this fishing trip we asked our kids what they wanted to do before the summer ended, and they all said that they’d like to go on another fishing trip! I’d say it was a hit!
