It might be a bit cliche, but every time this year, I am reminded just how thankful we are to live in the Sanibel Community. With Thanksgiving around the corner, it’s a nice time to give thought and thanks for life’s many blessings.
Sanibel Pre-Season!
November usually marks the start of our busy season, or maybe I’ll call it “pre-season.” There are noticeably a few more cars on the roads already, and even the community events are starting to pick back up, with something happening almost every weekend.
Susan and I have enjoyed good music and fellowship at the recent Jazz & Blues Festival that kicked off the first weekend in November.
We even had the chance to get out to the Sanibel Farmer’s Market on Sunday to chat with the local venders and buy some fresh produce. Lots of residents were out walking their dogs, and catching up from summer’s excitement. Here are some photos I took, for those who couldn’t make it…
While attending CROW’s Annual Taste of the Islands this past weekend, we ran into a number of familiar faces and had the pleasure of meeting a few new visitors and island residents. Maybe it was the wine, but it’s hard not to feel warm inside when you hear some the stories of how other families fell in love with our charming Sanibel Island.
Thanks To The Community
Of course these events and chances to mingle wouldn’t be possible without our island’s hard-working non-profit organizations and their dedicated volunteers. A special thanks should be given to the island businesses, their employees, and everyone involved with these community gatherings. The island wouldn’t be the same without you!
My list of thanksgiving could go on and on, but I’ll spare you the extra sap. I hope you have a chance to enjoy some time of fellowship and thanksgiving with your family and friends this coming week. And, of course, I hope to see you over the upcoming holiday season!
