It happened three times this week, folks popped into our office and asked for a “book of homes” for sale on Sanibel. I politely explained that it’s no longer like the old days, where there was one huge book of all the homes listed for sale. Now-a-days, this book exists online, here at SanibelRealEstateGuide.com!
As I chatted with them about Sanibel and Captiva real estate, I learned that these curious vacationers just wanted an overview of what homes cost on our Islands. Together, we talked about the price of homes on Sanibel, and what type of home you can get at a certain price point. They wanted a book so they could flip through the pages and get a feel for the market, however, as a result of the conversation, I came up with a better way!
The condensed market report below provides a good overview of the market, and highlights the homes that are currently for sale. In blue, are the number of homes that were listed as “for sale” as of June 1, 2017. The green represents the number of homes that have sold in each price point over the past 12 months.
We’ve broken it down by Sanibel Single Family Homes, Sanibel Condos, Captiva Single Family Homes, and Captiva Condos, since each represents a very different slice of the overall market.

Talking with these friendly customers helped me realize the need for a brief market overview, such as this one, that I can hand to those that are “just curious” to see what homes cost on Sanibel and Captiva Island.
