All About Sanibel Estates – Sanibel Island

Today we’re touring the community known as “Sanibel Estates.”

All About Sanibel Estates

This east-end community of single-family homes on Sanibel Island includes 196 home sites. AND, a good number of these homes are canal-front properties!

When boating from your house, the homes on the north side of Periwinkle Way have no bridges to cross under before reaching San Carlos Bay. Properties on the other side of Periwinkle do have to cross under the roadway in order to get out into the Gulf and bay. Keep this in mind when considering the height of your boat.

Streets Included in Sanibel Estates

The following streets are included in the Sanibel Estates community:

  • Anchor Drive
  • Anhinga Drive
  • Captains Walk
  • Glory Way
  • Lagoon Dr
  • Lighthouse Way
  • Morningside Place
  • N Yachtsman Drive
  • S Yachtsman Drive
  • Sabal Street
  • Schooner Place
  • Skiff Place
  • Windlass Way
  • & Some homes along E Gulf Drive

Most of the homes in this community are voluntary HOA subdivisions with the exception of homes on Lighthouse Way.

Nearby Attractions:

Walk or bike to the Sanibel Lighthouse and beach, Gramma Dots restaurant, The Sanibel Marina, Lighthouse Cafe, The Sanibel Sea School, and a number of other popular businesses and destinations on island.

Overall, you’ll find the east-end of the island very quiet and laid back. The short distance to the Causeway bridge is a huge bonus, especially during our peak season where traffic can back up on Periwinkle Way.
